My perfect Valentines Day Checklist
With Valentine’s Day being right around the corner, you have probably already started to think about your plans for February 14th. Being an organization freak, I made a checklist to make sure I don’t forget anything in terms of things to do or buy, and I’m very excited to share it with you guys!
For the past few weeks, I’ve been promoting on my social media outlets Floreal Designs services. This young Dallas-based company, founded by Jesse Camargo, designed especially for Valentine’s Day a very romantic floral arrangement called “San Valentin”. It comes in a cylinder glass vase for $75 on www.florealdesigns.com. The delivery is free anywhere in the Dallas County. The amount of floral arrangements made is limited, so make sure to place your order early!
Buy a scented candle
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know that I’m a big fan of the Dallas-based company Aesthetic Content. Their fragrant candles are the best ones I’ve ever used. Not only do they smell wonderful, they are also very good quality candles. For Valentine’s Day, I recommend the “Fig Favoloso” scent. I find it perfect for the occasion.
Book a table for 2
There are so many great restaurants in Dallas that it’s hard to pick one. Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse, Parigi, Uchi, Mercat Bistro, Le Bilboquet, Dolce Riviera, Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck… I really can’t make up my mind! Anyway, make sure to book a table as soon as you can, as restaurants get fully booked really fast for Valentine’s Day!
Make sure to have a bottle of Champagne in the fridge
Perriet-Jouet, it will be! It’s Ken’s favorite.
When I think Valentine’s Day, I think macarons, and when I think macarons, I think JOY Macarons. Obs! This Dallas-based specialty bakery makes the best macarons you can find in the city. For those who can’t make it to one of their two Dallas locations (one on Greenville Avenue and the other on W. Davis Street), head to JOY Macarons’s website. You can place an order online and have your macarons delivered to your home, as far as you live in the United States. To give you an idea of their pricing, the featured box of 12 macarons is $25.
Write a sweet message on a card
On Valentine’s Day, Ken and I like to write a few sweet words on cards and hand them to each other. We actually don’t only write cards to each other on Valentine’s Day, but on every big holiday or celebration such as birthdays and Christmas. In other words, we use a lot of cards all year long. That’s why I had the idea to have personalized cards made. I got us the Triple Thick Isaac Flat Note Cards and their matching envelops in navy ink color from The Stationery Studio. I love how classy and elegant they are. The quality of the paper used makes them look very luxurious. To give you an idea of the pricing, they are right under $53 for 50 personalized cards and their matching envelops, but I invite you to check their website as they have much more designs and options.
Buy a gift
Buy helium balloons to decorate the living room
I got a few helium red and pink balloons at Party City to decorate the living room. I’m very happy with the result, as it really feels like Valentine’s Day now!
Find a playlist of love songs
Because Valentine’s Day would not be Valentine’s Day without romantic music, I suggest this 1 hour long playlist of smooth jazz love songs from YouTube, for you and your lover.
